I would definitely consider it, I do not have a great comparison, but the
performance increase I see between my dual pII 300 and my dual pII 45 is
significant.. probably 5 times faster

I have a PII 400 MZ chip with 256 MB RAM on a win98 box with
a P111motherboard and I'm considering an upgrade to a PIII 500
Would it give me any significant performance increase
for my flash based work. Sometimes I find saving and exporting
slow considering I do it 100's of times a day.
