Hi David,


You will find that many Flash developers use this technique.


I'd recommend using LoadMovie only if large blocks of content are being 

requested in random order by the viewer. If it's linear and predictable, a 

single movie will give you better loading control and will allow you to 

share all symbols in one library.


I have some info on loading movies on levels, particularly on how to load 

them in the background and let the base movie know when they're ready to be 

made available to the user. You could readily adapt this to make your 

preloader reflect the loading status of the other movies. See
