Subject: FLASH: Clients and Flash 4 Player Download!!!
From: Michael Hensel

Hi everybody,

Here is a real life example of losing or keeping potential clients.

Scenario:
A Company called me through a referral to redesign their website. It is a
$100.000.000 Wholesale Fashion Company.
(So far so good (great)).

The Problem:
The VP asked me for some sample websites I designed, so of course I referred
her to my home page first. Then it turns out, that she doesn't have the
flash 4 player installed (no problem I thought, since I have a link to the
Macromedia Flash 4 download page
(http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shoc
kwaveFlash). So she did download the Player.... After restarting the
computer automatically, her browser (IE) froze up. I tried to help her as
much as I could (about 20 minutes on the phone), then we gave up.

My Question:
What is the best (safest) way to download or get the Flash 4 Player on a
clients Computer, without crashing the browser or computer itself? Any
Suggestion? I don't want to lose more big accounts (Clients), just because
of the Flash 4 Player. Any familiar experience anybody? Please help.

Sincerely,

Michael Hensel
