I believe the instructions put forth by someone on this list earlier
regarding Mac pluggin relocation were correct and very useful as you can
swap the pluggins in and out at will. This same technique can be used to
test different versions of the flash pluggin. Just remeber to always
relaunch the browser.
These same instructions apply to Netscape browsers on Windows machines. In
the case of the Flash activeX control (which is used by win IE based
browsers) you can find the activeX control in the
windows>system>macromed>flash folder on your hard drive. Once you locate the
"flash.ocx" file you merely need to pull the file out of the folder and
temporarily place it on your desktop. Now you can relaunch your IE browser
and test your detection scripts and the flashless user's experience.
