Subject: Re: FLASH: Flash vs Director

Hey,
Man you hit on the question of the day for me. We are doing a presentation on
CD and let me tell you the head aches we have endured. We thought about doing
it in flash so that the presentation was tranferable to the web and all we
have had was headaches. The biggest problem came with file size. You see the
presentation was 16 megs in size and all we got was hiccup after hiccup. On
windows 95 and NT it seem to run fine but, when on a windows 98 machine we had
all sorts of problems. Sound became choppy, The animation didn't go smooth
etc. So we decided to chop the movie up and load the movie in sections. Well
that worked a little better but we still had performance issues. So We bit the
bullet and bought Director. Now because Director 7 suppports flash importing,
we thought everything was going to be a breeze well we were wrong. You see we
often get errors in windows 98 and windows 2000. Director runs much smoother
but is 10 times more difficult to understand.

(About to rip the one hair left out of his head!)
