FLASH: Movie Clip-Layers dissappearing?

Dear all,


I'm having an irritating time with a movie clip. I have a very simple Flash

file using 3 GIF images to simulate TV static - they are semi-transparent.

In the layer underneath is an animated number countdown from 5 to 1. Simple

little animation that works fine.


However, when I save it as a movie clip and bring it into another file the

TV static images dissappear! If I bring the MC into a new, blank stage it's

fine!


Anyone give me some guidance as to what might be going on here?
