Flash4 can be set (in Export dialog) to preserve original jpeg compression,
in which case your images should not suffer any. But my own experience is
that Flash does a very good job of compressing bitmaps, so I usually opt to
import images in .bmp format and then play with the Flash jpeg export
quality setting to find the lowest acceptable quality. If you need to
retain transparency of images in Flash using Windows, you should import gif
or png.
