FLASH: Site Design in Flash?

I wanted to throw this question out to the group because I want to gain

knowledge from everyone's experience.


For a basic site that is designed entirely in Flash 4, is it best to have

one large .swf file on a single timeline utilizing optimization techniques,

use multiple scenes, or call independent .swf files as needed?  An example

may be of a typical site might have three or four main areas such as;

Company Info, Services, Product Info, etc...  Most sites have menus that

allow the user to dynamically select the area they want more information on,

and I am curious of what the best method might be to handle the transition

from one menu selection to another.


I have used flash 4 to add interactivity to a lot of my sites but I am going

to take the plunge and design my first site entirely in Flash 4.  I know

there are a lot of variables to take into consideration based on the

criteria of the site and the needs of the users, I am just trying to get a

general idea of what people do when using Flash for the entire authoring

solution.  I have a lot of traditional html/java/javascripting experience

and am trying to think of the best "Flash" way to accomplish basic site

design issues.
