FLASH: Launching .exe from .swf (Same old chestnut - any new insights?)

I am developing an intranet for a client that wants to launch all their apps

from the browser. Thankfully they are using IE only (I'm not starting a

browser war here, it's just a fact of life that IE is more suited to this

kinda thing), but they are wanting to launch the apps seamlessly from a

Flash interface without any error messages or prompts to downlaod or save.


Any insights or previous experiences much appreciated.
