Waldo,
Thank you, thank you THANK YOU! It is so nice of you to help me out this
way. I know all you Flashers have lots to do and it's great that you would
take the time to help a newbie like me.
This is a great list and you guys are the *best*!
Thanks again,
Anji

Dear Anji,
I liked your question and also read Ken Sherwood's answer. But I thought
that it would be possible to do with actions script.
So I tried it. I would like to share this technique with you, but I don't
have he time to really explain it. So I've made something like a "plug and
play" version of it. The flash file is full with comments, so i hope you can
find out very easy how it works. If not, just mail me once again, cause this
is my first "tutorial".
Here you can find it: http://members.xoom.com/wesp/countdown.swf , a link to
the fla is included (http://members.xoom.com/wesp/countdown.fla )in the
movie.
Did you like it?
Now it sometimes looks as if the reseize process doens't work fine, but
remember that when the number switches between a 2 digit to a 1 digit it
becomes smaller --> it looks like being resiezed, but it isn't. If you want
to I can make it always a x digit number (by placing zero's before the
number). But I'm not a designer, so perhaps you know better how to solve
this "visual" problem.
Waldo

Onderwerp: FLASH: Newbie Question:Actionscript vrs. Many Layers
Hi all,
I really enjoy this group a lot and I've noticed that many of my
difficulties with learning Flash are solved here before I ever get a chance
to post a question. Right now I have a project that I'm working on and I
need some advice.
Here's the scoop:
I need to make a movie of numbers counting down and getting smaller in font
size at the same time. From 325 to 100! I can make a lot of symbols and
change them out every couple of frames but this would make the movie really
long. I assume that there is a way to do this with Actionscript but I am at
a loss of how to do it....any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Anji
