Hey Eric.
I have built something like you are requesting. Start B. Hall's "variables from
an external text file" tutorial on the (great) flashlite.net site.
Check it out. (I have had trouble getting there the past few days though.) The
tutorial basically walks you through pulling variables from an external text
file... once you get that in place the animation, or "ticker" part of it
shouldn't be a problem, especially if you already have Colin's ticker code.
Hope this answers at least part of your question.

I've been off the list for a while so excuse me if this has been answered
before.
I was wondering if anyone has had any success modifying Colin Moock's
text ticker so that it would use text from an external text file.
