In order to be able to mask an editable text field you must include the font
for that text field. If you open up the properties for that text field its
at the bottom.

Subject: FLASH: editable text boxes

we have run into something, it may be documented somewhere, but i'm not
sure: is there a way to have an editable text box within a movieclip that
is under a mask on the main timeline?

also, passing variables to and from movieclips that are in masked layers has
been causing problems. as soon as the movieclip is taken out from under the
mask layer, everything works fine. what is the reasoning behind this?

thanks for any help,

Kenneth Austin
