I have to disagree somewhat. It is true that there are occasions when the
authors plop down a buncha code and just say "type it in", but, more often than
not, if you work your way through the book from the beginning, you'll find that
they take the time to explain what the code is doing ... not line-for-line, but
enough that if you've programmed in any other language, you should be able to
follow.
