Subject: | FLASH: OT: The original Samir question |

===the original question posted by Samir===
It seems most marketing companies are now investing a cool buck in
creating "cool' intros to catch people; Should I say internet is being
"assimulated" to become the new medium for rich media advertising even though
the user is made to wait? Dunno how far people have gone. I would really like to
know from the people who convinced these marketing gurus on coming to the net
with flash!
Anyone here who came across anyone?

Frankly, I never even clicked on the links provided in the original email
because they were superfluous to the question. Maybe if I had then I'd have got
all bent out of shape about spammers too. For the record, I also got the stupid
spam a week or so ago and just deleted it like the other detritus that comes to
my inbox these days.
More importantly though, I actually think the question posed is interesting and
related to our line of work (though if you're a flash monkey buried away in a
big company it probably concerns you less than if you're a freelancer or biz
owner).
We've all seen stupid flash intros. Some of us have even made the damn things.
We've all come across people (friends, clients, relatives) who associate flash
with stupid long-downloading intros. I for one, would be interested in a
discussion about how these pieces come into being and how people have responded
when actually asked to create one.
If Samir is a shameless spammer then at least he asked an interesting question
while he was doing it. Had effort been focused on his question then we might
have actually learned something.
