Re-read my original post... my P4 blows away my old P3 667Mhz in Flash
playback. The only thing that barely slows down the P4 is switching to Full
Screen Mode while zooming in on an intense the animation with my monitor set
to 1600x1200 with an 85hz refresh rate. I dont know what website gave you
slow P4 benchmarks, but I havent found 1 application that runs the same
speed or slower than a P3. Everything is wicked fast. Every program loads
much faster. On my P4 Photoshop 6 loads in 10 seconds the first time
loading, and nearly instant load time when you open it again. It takes
about 40 seconds to load Photoshop 6 on my P3. On my P4 Bryce 3D renders
complex scenes in seconds compared with minutes or hours on my P3. If your
into games, I get above 200 FPS in Quake 3 Arena at 640x480 with full
detail, and 90 FPS at 1600x1200 full detail. A P3 cant even push 120 FPS in
Quake3 at 640x480 full detail, and cant even handle 5 FPS at 1600x1200 full
detail.

>From what I've read, it does not surprise me that you are unimpressed by the
performance of the PIV. Little if any software has yet been created to take
advantage of the new processor. Any test results I have seen printed
indicate that the performance of a PIII 800 or better can show equal or
better performance to the PIV with most apps.
Get used to the disappointment - it will be a little while before the true
potential of the 1.5 GHz processor can be realised.
