FLASH: Audio on/off through layers

Hi all


I've got a flash site that I have designed which consists of 5 layers and I

need to enable the user to have control over the sound on/off. My problem is

that I've got different audio loops within each layer. I've created a button

which controls the sound and is duplicated throughout the 5 layers but it

only appears to control that particular layer your in (with stop all sounds

action). So if the user clicks the sound mute button (stops audio loop) and

then goes to the next layer in the movie sequence the audio starts playing

again, which I don't want!!!. Is there an Actionscript that controls a

button from e.g level 1 through to level 5???????


Its probably very simple and I will kick myself when I get the answer!!!
