I did notice that if you expand all of the carets, the bottom menu
selections fall off. A suggestion I might make when creating your own is to
collapse a menu group when a new group is expanded.
You can also do something very similar to this using Javascript. In fact, I
might have replaced this menu with a Javascript one unless you want to use
more animation features (such as having the expanding items grow out of the
menu header)(I hope my description makes sense). My personal opinion is
that this particular menu doesn't really use enough Flash features to
justify forcing people to download the plugin. Granted, this is
Macromedia's site and they are showcasing their own technologies. This
particular menu design could be spruced up a bit with little or no increase
in file size and provide you with a unique menu system that can't be
duplicated by any other tool.
As far as tutorials, check at www.flashkit.com. I just went there and typed
in menu in the search tool for the tutorials and it provided links to Flash
4 and 5 examples of menu systems.
