another trick with websafe colors if you use rgb scales is all websafe
colors are multiples of 51, i.e. r=0 g=51 b=204 or r=102 g=153 b=255 this
can be handy if you are trying to match a logo color.

Julie,
You need to use a web-safe colour in order to render the colour similarly in
both browser and Flash movie. #3864A0 is *not* web safe. Web safe colors are
any combinations with the colors listed in pairs: #FF3300, #FFFFFF, #3366CC,
and so on. You can see a chart of them (sorted by hue) at
http://www.lynda.com/hexh.html.
You can find a lengthy article discussing why even some web-safe colors
might still not render identically at Webmonkey
(http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/00/37/index2a.html?tw=design), but my
guess is that switching to the nearest web-safe equivalent of your chose
color will solve your problem.
The web safe palette should be built into your Flash as the default palette
(it is in Flash 4). You can also find it in the Adobe Photoshop palette set.
