I've had a similar problem in the past. If the center of your button is
off the beginning of the guide line by even a tad it will cause it to go
off course. Click "snap" in the View menu as well as the Tween tab. If
those things don't make a difference, try and add a keyframe here and there
to give the button a closer course to follow.
