JD,

I take your previous post to mean that there will be PHP support in UltraDev
& (F5.5 or F6). It would make my life SO MUCH EASIER that I might just buy
two copies of UltraDev, one for the computer and the other for the prime
position on the mantel piece !! :)

With Allaire onboard, could you please mention "lower prices" to the
marketing department for ColdFusion Server, cause I'm about to port a CFML
app into PHP4 and MySQL just to cut the cost to the client(s). I would love
not to have to do that though. :)

Oh, by the way, does "Harpoon" mean anything to you ??? If so, what can you
tell me (us) ??

Just wishing really, what you don't ask for you never get. :)

Cheers,

Mats

No worries... one of the clear priorities here is continuing to ease the
workflows designers and developers actually use.

We're not perfect yet -- it's been easier to handle ASP and JSP and CFML in
UltraDev than the decentralized PHP so far, for instance -- but there's a
clear mandate to be open to the *various* technologies people choose to
use, such as Lasso, BEA, Adobe graphics, .NET, more.

Rephrased, there's no *room* to be closed. 8)

Agreed. Different people have different needs. Respecting those differences
is one of the keys to success. This is a strongly-emphasized tenet here in
the shop.

Hmm? I don't recall seeing that here:
http://www.macromedia.com/special/allaire/

Yesterday was the announcement that the two companies will merge. It will
take months to implement the integration. Product development will follow
that, and after *that* comes any specific product announcements. Too early,
too subject to change, for any specific statements about products today,
sorry.
