You set MIME on the Server, not in IE preferences.

Do you have a URL so we can help you check?

If you are using IE using Win95, Win98, or WinNT then your crashing is

probably not MIME related though this should be checked.

If the IE you are using is Mac or Win 3.x then it may be a MIME problem

even though it plays OK on a particular Netscape.
