Sound in Java won't be that happy to begin with. It will be about the same
level as Flash's native sound. It won't be at the quality of RealAudio or
Shockwave Audio (MP3).
If you have a piece where the audio is very long, and very important, then
sending it inside of a SWF may not be the most appropriate way to go. You
can synch Flash and hi-fi streaming audio inside RealFlash or inside
Director, for instance.
I don't recall exactly which browsers are on the funkier side with their
included Java VMs (it's in the docs somewhere), but I do know that it's
best to keep the default "use robust Java" enabled. Turn it to "all Javas"
for only the simplest and least demanding of presentations, not something
with long audio and all.
