Mike,

Thanks for the info on installing generator. I did get it to install and I am having problems getting it to work at to moment with iis 4.0. I have walked through the installation a couple of times and I am pretty confident that I am doing it correctly. I turned off IIS Admin which stops all web related services. Then I installed generator. At this point I rebooted the machine and restarted the IIS Admin. I created a virtual directory call FlashGenerator that is inside of my wwwroot directory and moved my template file and supporting data files into this directory.

At this point my path to the files looks like this...http://servername/FlashGenerator/test_template.swt when I go here I get nothing. Not even a right clickable movie not loaded message. I have also setup mime types on this directory for swf and swt files using this mime...application/x-shockwave-flash which was supplied in the using flash3 book. Is there another mime specifically for swt files?

I am very confused at this point to why it isn't working...I have checked the application event log and the system event log and have found nothing out of the ordinary. I even tried installing Flash3 on the system in a last ditch effort to make it work...like that's gonna do it or something. But i have had no luck. I can get the template file to work within flash itself, so I know that data files are correct. Any help anyone could give would be great!

Leland,

The times that I have seen this error before is when the setup program
has somehow been corrupted while it was downloaded. I hate to say
this, but it would probably be best if you downloaded a new copy of
the Generator installation application.

Has anyone had a problem installing generator on to iis4? When I try and install it it gets most of the way throught the install and the stops on a .dll file and says that I am installing over a network and the installation cannot continue, please move the files to the local machine. Or something to that effect. Well, the files are on the local server that I am installing to, so that's screwy!

It will not finish with the install, so I can't get it to work. :(
