Says on the box, MAX.

Prob is, MAX wont export in either .ai .dxf
Ive been tinkerin with some 3D techniques to use on my corporate site with MAX
and
have found to import and "recreate" in vector is a timely process. MAX (as far
as I know doest _not_
export straight to FLash in vector format)(I hope I missing something and John
C. can straightin'
me out as usual), but my experiments have been with simply importing as bmp
format and
painstakingly retraced in flash using gradients. Its a biotch, but trace map
ainta workin' and
Im concentrating on keeping file size low and this is the only technique Ive
found. Checking
out Matinee's site, it looks like they hand traced the spinning Mantinee icon,
because it seems too
"jittery" looking than just being exported from the 3D modeler(MAX) straight
into Flash.
The same with the "peace" hand icon. Very jittery. On the others that dont
required the retracing with
the gradient tool it looked liked they have simply used the "fill" tool. Hard
to tell cause Im sure theres
a converter for the vector format. Im curious however and hope someone can
offer some insight.
Nonetheless, I dont see it as easy as "export=import"

I dont believe the 3D applications are whats causing the huge file size. It
seems Matineecreators have used all vectors in their work(even lens flare) Ive
got several (15 frames) 3D buttons
that only require 10 kbps each of the file that are more detailed than that of
Matinees. I would
guess that most of that size is due to the sounds they use. It seems they've
been careful and efficient
on the graphics, but let the soundtracks and FX go like they were developing
for CD. Ive noticed, on my fairly
upbeat computer sound system, that it seems they've altered the low default on
a couple of the sounds
to export in a higher bit. Some music sounds are very crisp and clean. This
alone can double the size of a swf file.

Indeed this is one site to visit!
