hmm, I could have sworn I answered this a couple of days ago. Did I not?

Flash loads frames in the order of the timeline. No way around it. If you
want elements to load invisibly, you can put them in movie clips that have
stop actions (the whole clip will load but won't play unless told to, via
TellTarget). Or you can put them in separate movies that are loading in a
higher level and have stop actions (but it's harder to control loading in
that case).
