Subject: FLASH: Sloooooow computer
From: Bellach, Caroline

Hi!

For an experiment, I decided to try using flash 4 on an archaic machine... a
P90 (nooooo!!! not that!!)

I began creating a movie, which seemed to work out well in the beginning. As
I began adding audio clips and video, all went downhill. When testing the
movie.. even when it's published, that audio does not sync up with the
video. Basically, the audio finished waaaay before the video, even though I
lined them up to finish at the same time in the timeline. It's frustrating
because I can't test the movie on the machine - even when playing it in the
program the audio ends way before the video (although the timeline shows
differently).

I know one of the requirements to using flash is to have a faster computer
than an 90.. but is there any way around this? My main problem/question
is... what happens when someone with a slow machine watches the video? Does
the same thing happen? Are there known issues with audio/video syncing? If
so, this is a BIG problem!!!! There are a lot of people out there that don't
have anything faster that a 90....

Any help or suggestions would be great :)

note: I tested this video on a p400 and it syncs fine.
