Subject: FLASH: Preloading
From: Gareth Squire

Hello all,

Could someone please shed some light on the following aspect of preloading.
If I'm setting up a preload movie and using this to load some jpg's used in
the main movie what is the correct way to do this - as I see it there are
three options:

1) Load the source jpg - recognised as a bitmap in the library.
2) Load the graphic symbol generated from the jpg.
3) Load both.

I assume that if I load the the source jpg in the preloader then as the
actual movie plays the symbols derived from it will not stall the movie as
the originating graphic is loaded. Is this correct? or should I preload
both. I have checked a couple of books etc and have not come up with a
concrete answer.

thanks,

Gareth
