yes, though you will need to change the button to a movieclip to do it
(which would make it no longer a bottun :oP i would suggest making 3
instences of the button and put them in 3 frames of a movieclip, then do a
tell target switching frames, then the button would always be active, but
you will have complate control of what it looks like at any given time
