FLASH: hyperlinking a movie......help pls

Hi everyone.  having probelms hyperlinkin/hrefing a movie.


I have made a flash movie and have it as a banner on a web page.  

Could anyone tell me how to make it hyperlink.  i have used the 

<a href="www.whatever.com> before the embed tags and </a> after.  I 

thought that might do it, but it hasnt worked....


can anyone help please, would be very grateful,
