Thanks for the reply, Jon. The textfield idea is a great one for
general debugging. The problem was mine, not getTimer's -- I somehow
put the 2 frames of the movieclip into frames 201/202 instead of 1/2 (so
all those extra frames got executed and added to the time delay) and
didn't notice until I was adding textfields for debugging. Don't know
how I did it (maybe I moved the timeline scrollbar when I mean to move
the stage scrollbar?), but I guess I'll make every single mistake
possible before I finish with Flash...
