Yep,

At 255kb the movie may need a little help on modem connections. ???
My best suggestion is to test on a modem. Go to a friends place if ya have
to. I'm on a T1 line....who knows, you may have already put a long enough
pause in the dictionary definition splash screen to give it a good head
start.

In essence, the dictionary splash screen is your 'pre-loader'. ;-)

Thanks for the message

Still abit confused about the pre-loaders. do I put them in the Splash scene
or in another scene which then links to the Splash page once its loaded (oh
the Splash page being the page which says Hermes etc with dictionary type
text underneath)

...p.s.

Pre-load as much as ya can using the splash screen.....but please, please,
please resist the urge to add the LOADING... text to the page.
Instead, use a nice, short introduction that will allow the rest to load
behind the scenes.
Marcus

Importance: High

This is my first Flash site and I work in the City so has to be quite toned
down - to say the least!

Am really confused about loading pages as the site is created on several
scenes so do not know whether to put the pre-loader on a separate scene or
in the first 'Splash' scene, also can't really check that here as we have an
internet connection that is like the speed of light!

Can anyone help?

Cheryle
