FLASH: New poster : Old question (I am sure)

If anyone out there could give me some advice, I'd appreciate it:


I've been making websites with Flash since v.2.  I am quite comfortable

in Flash save one area - Actionscripts.


Does anyone know:

A good resource (or book - I don't mind paying) that explains

Actionscripts for a complete programming idiot (me)? I understand tell

targets, and the other simple functions, yet the more advanced areas

such as Variables, If Else etc. I'm talking from the ground up,

explaining it for someone with NO programming experience.... I wish to

take my sites to the next level.....


OR:

Does anyone have any suggestions of OTHER programming languages I could

learn that might help me understand all this stuff?
