Subject: FLASH: creating a personalized page cookie
From: julie gargan

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has created a personalized page in flash, where
the user can choose from a list of topics to make the site specific for
them. Then, every time they went to the page they would get their
personalized page.

Basically I want to set a variable for each choice they can make and then
cookie their browser to bring up that information whenever they go to the
page. Would I then be able to use anything other than FS commands to give
the information to the flash file? I don't want to use FS commands because
of the browser limitations.

At work we've tested using java script to send basic information to a flash
file, but it also doesn't seem to work on IE on a mac....

In case you can't already tell, I have never done anything like this before.
I've looked on the MM site and a few other tutorial sites and searched for
cookie, but I didn't get anything except a fortune cookie flash file, which
is cool, but not quite what I needed :)

thanks in advance for any info.

-julie
