Subject: FLASH: Now you can talk about Flash 5? s
From: Jefferis Peterson

Okay, its announced
http://www.macromedia.com/macromedia/proom/pr/2000/index_flash5pro.fhtml

Specific questions I have weren't readily answered, although on the whole
it looks great.

1. The new action scripting is javascript based or compatible. But the
mention of 3D effects is obscure. Question: what are the 3D effects
included as drag and drop type items? And will I still need and benefit
from a Flash 4 book that analyzes and teaches the math involved in
creating the 3D effects? Or can I do it in Freehand, e.g. and easily port
it into Flash?

2. Generator 2 developer edition is available in a combo package.
[apparently only for Windows which cuts me out.]
a) how hard is Generator to learn
b) does Generator have to be loaded onto your server, and if so, do you
need to host the server yourself to take full advantage of it? [ because
I use an ISP Pair.com as my server, and I don't control what modules they
do and do not allow]

Thanks,

JEff
