FLASH: .swf only showing on Mac browsers - not showing on PC -- Please help!

I am pulling out the few hairs I have left trying to figure out why a 

simple flash file  will only show up on Mac browsers - not on PC browsers 

at all (get a blank white square - on mac it shows and runs fine)   Other 

flash files on this server work fine on both browsers so I don't think its 

a mime issue or server issue. I'd give you a link but its all on my 

workplace's staging server...(it's two different looping animations- on the 

same page - with a  get url button)


I used both the object embed code that Flash outputs via the publish 

settings as well as embedding it via Dreamweaver.  I can't see any 

difference in the embed code on the flash files that work on both platforms 

as compared to my non-functioning ones.

The swf was made on a mac with Flash 4.


I once read that it is preferred to have the swf file in the same directory 

as the html file that call for it. Is this true?

We are using standard Mac fonts - this wouldn't be an issue would it?

I looked at the MM tech notes and didn't find anything relevant.  I would 

be most grateful to any pointers or clues to how I might fix this.
