Wayne,
Thanks for your response. I am attempting to use the flash/meta-redirect
method which does not require the recipient to make a decision. The site
supports a lot of non-techies and the decision to select flash or non-flash
and the knowledge of whether flash is installed with their browser is
beyond them. In fact "See the Flashed Site" could sound like pornography
to these folk.
So, since I have installed flash on my PCs, I need to test the
flash/meta-redirect
feature and I would rather not de-install flash. I was hoping that someone has
a trick setup on line that could access a URL and redirect the results with-or-
without flash.
Another alternative is to use the Lynx browser to test the non-flash transfer,
but that has its own problem. In this case the target page is an ASP and if
the meta-redirect occurs, it simply re-invokes the page with a parameter
indicating that non-flash is needed -- then it substitutes GIFs for SWFs.
The Lynx Browser would tell me the GIFS are there, but not how the page
looks with the GIFs instead of the SWFs.
I can also use a ASP variable overide to force GIF mode vs SWF mode. Hmmm,
now that's practical.
Wayne, thanks for making me think this through!
