FLASH: Setting variables in the html / control over frames

Hi all,


My question is two fold.


1] How do you set a variable in the html that the swf can read.


2] I'm having a problem understanding how to target a swf in another frame,

via an html [ Java ] link. I've seen many tuts and examples all of which

either don't work or the Java script is way over my head. Is there a simple

way to do this ? or do I need to pull up my sleeves and get stuck into some

scripting.
