Yes, you can do this in Flash as well.
If the graphics are as simple as in this Director example but in vectors
this would work well in Flash 3 but it would not be easy to have the
precision of speed change. In Flash 4 using the X Position Property
would make it easy to duplicate the speed change effect, assuming the
animation itself was not too processor intnsive.
