Re: FLASH: clickable link from a text file?

I havent found that this works very well, unless you break apart your text.


Testing "live" text on several machines, I find that even when using a

specified font (lets say times or arial which I can be reasonably certain

can be found on a great percentage of client machines) there is "slippage".

By this I mean that the button doesn't always land over the word you want

clickable. Also, since there appears to be no way to have styled text

there's no way to emphasize a certain word which you would like to have

clickable.


I tried a number of things in this vein - breaking apart and coloring only

the word I wanted clickable. This was terrible. The word of course would

predictably end up ten pixels north (or east west or south) of the word when

viewed online on a different machine.


I solved this problem by designing something in which ALL of the text was

sort of sloppy, like it had been picked up and thrown at the screen.


While a button certainly WORKS, its not a great solution because of the

dynamic nature of the text.


I hope this is something MM can address in a future version of flash.
