Subject: FLASH: Tweening problems
From: Mattias Edelius

Hello people,
I have a strange problem that I have never encountered before.

I have 5 layers in the main timeline. On one of these layers I have a
ordinary tween
the symbol is at one stage at frame 1 and at the end frame it is at another
stage. This tweens
fine in the editor.
I also have a MC that I set a random X and Y property in the beginning, and
in the second frame
I send new X and Y coordinates for it and then have a "regular" loop that
moves the MC to the place.
I get the X and Y of the MC and check the distance to the target X and Y I
then update the X and Y with
current + distance / 8 or some such.

This MC that is moved with actioscript, is several MC's in itself, it is
like a jar with fireflies in it. The fireflies
are also controlled with actionscript making them move around randomly
within the jar in the same way
as I moved the MC on the main timeline.

The other layers are some graphics and one are a invisible MC that contains
the actionscripting for the moving MC.

Anyhow, the tween works perfectly fine in the editor, but as soon as I test
the movie the tween does not work but the actionscript animating does.

I dont know if this has happened to someone else or if it is just me. I have
tried to make the tween in a fresh movie and it works. I have also tried the
not working movie on two different machines, none is working.

If you have any idea whatever could be wrong, dont hesitate to tell me. I am
going nuts over this.
If it is any help, I am using a P2 350, 128 mb, Win2k and Flash4, of course.

TIA,
Mattias
