Subject: | FLASH: Sending email from a form without refreshing the holder page |

Hi Flashers,
I am building an email function into a Flash site, whereby the email form
(which is actually an external .swf that is loaded into a holder) sends
email to the selected recipient. The problem I am having is that I don't
want the page which contains the Flash movie to refesh once the data is
sent. This, of course, resets the overall container movie, and does not
return to the email section. Frustrating!
We are trying to write a Javascript in the HTML code of the holder page that
will take the data from the various fields (ie: name, email, message) and
pass it to another frame (hidden from view) that will then run the CGI
script and send the message. This is crazy, though.
So, does anyone know how to submit a form in Flash without having to refresh
the page? Or is this simply a function of CGI scripting, period?
Thanks in advance!!!
