Which version of Flash are you running? Make sure it's 4.0a.
I remember having issues when using 4.0.
Also, depending on you video card (some ATI models) you may require the
OpenGL drivers to be installed.

I run Flash no problem on a G4 with 256 MB (36 MB to Flash) under System
9.04 on ATI Rage Pro and Orion cards.
