If that's the case (only .com and .exe) then WinBatch will allow you to
create a .bat file type of script and save it as an .exe
So, someone could construct the .bat (.exe) paths to open and modify
whatever they wanted and then run it from the autorun.inf

As far as I know, the only thing you can open with autorun file is .exe or
.com files. I could be wrong though.

Subject: FLASH: OT Autorun Theory
Has anyone used autorun.inf pointing to a .BAT file (open=xxxxxx.bat) that
contains all the paths and such needed to open the software / interfaces /
platforms that I always see asked in the List ?
Ya know; "...can I open a blah-blah-blah from a CDROM using a
blah-blah-blah....?"
I don't have time to build and test the proper .BAT file and such....so, I'm
beginning to wonder, has anyone else tried this yet ?
