It sounds like you want a content management system....
On the high-end theres Storyboard Vingette...

Then, in the more reasonable range, theres Allaire Spectra, which is built
entirely in Cold Fusion. Spectra is taught here at Fig Leaf and we also
sell the product. You can get more info about Spectra at
http://www.allaire.com/products/spectra/index.cfm

FYI, Cold Fusion its self runs on Linux, NT, HP-UX, and Solaris and Spectra
is web-top based.

I'm looking for a comprehensive web publishing program. Any recommendations
would be great.

I know Quark had talked about releasing a web publishing system. I think
Macromedia has something, but I'm not sure on either case.

Here's what I need:

1) For those who will be publishing content: PC, MacOS, Linux platforms will
be involved. So, either a client which runs on each, or a web browser
interface.

2) Publishing system to run on standard server OS: Linux, MacOS X or NT. NT
is the least preferred of the three.

3) The ability for the person publishing info to enter fields for
- author
- date of article/event
- content
- link to outside source or manufacturer of product

4) The system to log when the article was published, which may differ from
the article's original creation date.

5) Searchability of the articles published on the site by
- author
- subject
- title
- date

I've built something similar in the past, so I'm familiar with the resources
required, both time and money. If such a monster exists in a canned method,
I'd be willing to look at it, as we currently don't have the resources
in-house to build this app. Price is not really an issue as long as it's
worth what it costs.

Thanks!
