Subject: | FLASH: That darned timeline again... |

I'll make this as much of a nutshell as I can:
The project I'm working on involves a timeline lined with buttons that when
interacted with, bring up a pop-up of information related to the tick mark.
In addition to the pop-up appearing, the user needs to be able to roll off
the tick mark and over to use a button in the pop-up that calls a URL.
My first attempts at this suffered from instances of multiple pop-ups
(during random mouse movement) due to the fact that some tick marks are very
close together, and sometimes the pop-ups would never go away until you
rolled back over into its rollover area and THEN it'd go away. Messy.
So I've ended up with the tick marks that when pressed bring up the pup-up
(actually as a GoTo to another Label), but to leave the pseudo-popup I
required the user to re-click the tick mark, and back they'd go.
But some feedback my client got was that they didn't like this double-click
functionality... so now I'm sort of back at square one, because of all the
problems I had the first time out.
Any ideas or suggestions? This HAS to be easy, but I'm sort of at a loss.
