Today the Flash Team released to web the Macromedia Flash Deployment Kit

available at:

The Macromedia Flash Deployment Kit is a comprehensive set of tools enabling

the consistent and seamless deployment of Macromedia Flash-based Web sites.

Tools include examples, scripts, templates and easy, step-by-step

instructions for implementing Macromedia Flash Player detection on any Web

site.


The Macromedia Flash Deployment Kit consists of:


* Macromedia Dreamweaver 3 Behavior


* The necessary JavaScript, with supporting HTML, for detecting the presence

of a specified version of the Macromedia Flash Player. Results of detection

will cause one of the following behaviors:

�	Presenting Macromedia Flash content

�	Directing users to the Macromedia Flash Player download center a

Macromedia

	(in cases where the browser does not support automatic player

installation)

�	Providing alternate content (HTML/GIF version)


* Macromedia Flash 4 movie with HTML that implements a JavaScript-less

method for detecting Macromedia Flash Player


* The HTML/JavaScript for setting and using HTTP cookies to record

information gleaned in the detection process to optimize a viewer's site

return experience


The Macromedia Flash Deployment Kit will be simultaneously available in 8

Languages including: English, French, German, Japanese, Swedish, Spanish,

Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese
