There are no native commands to do this, but I suppose a mechanism could be
created to insure that users are only presented with one option to input
text.
Ditto with the ability to use the Tab key - currently, the only
functionality Flash uses for Tab is to change focus with text fields and
buttons. It's nearly impossible to control the order of this in any useable
or predictable manner. Additionally, we can't capture the Tab keypress
either.

It is. Just so you know, the ability to set focus ranks near the top of the
list for feature requests. Believe me, the Flash team is hearing these
suggestions.
