FLASH: wav file: trouble importing

Hi, everybody.

Once in a while I come across a wav file, that when I try to import it in 

Flash, gives me a message: "This file type is not recognized. Would you like 

to try to use another application to insert the file as embedded object? ... 

the file will appear as an icon"

It happens with all the Windows system sounds,  and now several of my old 

wav files do the same thing.

                        Anyone has an idea?
