Subject: FLASH: Re-naming swf's for projector use...
From: ComposiMo
Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2000 15:09:03 +0100

Someone mentioned not too long ago something about renaming an swf in a
projector to something like .dll so that if a user were to go digging around
on the cd, they would not see the swf filename, and furthermore, they would
not be able to open it even if they did have flash..... is this possible? if
so (here comes the idiotic part) how in the heck do i rename a file extention
with windows 98? ive gone through every different way of renaming a file that
i know how to do, (even tried opening it in notepad to rename the file, but
it is too big for it to open)...Flash will let me rename the fla to .dll, but
it will not allow me to rename the swf.... when i open it in wordpad, it
doesnt give me the option of (*.* all files) that notepad does... in all
reality, i would like to rename it something like .drf (Digital Rodder File)
so that no matter what program they have they won't be able to find a program
that will give it an icon. This really isn't that big of a deal to me, but
ever since it was mentioned i have thought about it, and now that i am
sitting down to try it, it isn't working, and i'm not the type of person to
quit something once ive started it no matter how ridiculous it may seem...
(which is also the reason that i'm usually online all through the night :-)

Someone help please!

John Ward
