I don't know if you gents really use *notepad*, but as a fellow hand coder,
I feel obligated to mention these two alternatives.
*disclaimer - I have no association with either of these products.*
EditPad - is postcardware and is a supper alternative to win notepad which
has tabs so you can have several pages open at once, a very useful find /
replace option.

UltraEdit - Is 45 day shareware ($30) but very well worth it.. has all the
options that EditPad has, plus it's color coded for html, Java, VB, C/C++,
and perl... very highly configurable (set your own colors).
you can do your own macros, SPELLCHECKER, Has a built in ASCII tables, as
well as TAG tables for html..probably others.... auto indents html. and on
and on..
I simply could not live without this after using it.

Sorry for the OT, but efficiency is the key.
I get rid of Notepad immediately on my systems.
